HTC plans to release a new VR device this spring – Vive Tracker

HTC has announced a new device to expand the possibilities of virtual reality experience at the high-tech exhibition CES 2017. Vive Tracker can be attached to various objects, enabling the interaction with VR through them. It tracks the spatial movement of the object with all possible changes (various inclinations, hits, rotation, etc.).

Vive Tracker works with HTC Vive headset. This new product will be useful for users as well as developers of different virtual reality content. Manufacturers used the motion tracking technology SteamVR, developed by Valve specialists.

The length of the gadget is 10 centimeters. After charging the battery, Vive Tracker will work for around 6 hours. Product launch to the mass market is scheduled for spring 2017, but it’s already available for software developers.
