2017-02-14

Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO, shared photos of Oculus VR lab on his page last week. It is based in Redmond (Washington, USA). The development of new devices based on virtual reality technology is carried out there.
The following fields of work are among the disclosed details:
• optical systems;
• eye movement tracking technique;
• mixed reality (MR), etc.
It is also known that Michael Abrash, who had been working at Valve corporation until 2014, is the head of the research laboratory.
Gloves for interaction with virtual reality that work in conjunction with Oculus Rift headset have been presented. Using them as controllers, you can draw and type in VR. Also on the photo, you can see how Mark Zuckerberg uses gloves that simulate web slings of one of the most popular Marvel Comics superheroes. Unfortunately, there are no technological details about the new product.
The laboratory is also constructing an additional anechoic room for sound experiments.
The so-called clean room for the production of the smallest details was also demonstrated on photos. Such room is necessary due to the fact that even a speck of dust can lead to defect.
