ASUS to present ZenFone AR – first smartphone supporting augmented reality


ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone supporting the augmented reality technology will be presented at the ASUS media conference in Taiwan.

of major features of the smartphone includes supporting Google Tango and Daydream technologies. It is the first mobile device operating with both technologies. ZenFone AR will be equipped with four cameras: a front one and three ones on the back. The latter will account for the interaction between AR and VR. The main camera will provide video capture, the second camera will track motions, and the third one should measure the space depth. These options will allow to create 3D layouts of objects and rooms using the smartphone. Asus ZenFone AR will also be able to track its position in the tree-dimension space.

To speed the interaction between AR and VR, the smartphone will have 8 GB core memory but there will be a more powerful 6 GB version as well. The display size will be 5.7 inches with 2560 × 1440 px resolution. The matrix of the main camera will be 23 megapixels and 8 megapixels of the front one. Data processing will involve Snapdragon 821quad-core processor with 2.3 GHz clockrate. 3300 mAh battery accounts for operation duration.
